Ponting’s choice of “X-factor” in the summit match was outrageous.

Suryakumar Yadav was not included in the Indian WTC Final Squad.

The IPL 2023 will be overshadowed by the traditional format in the next couple of weeks, as India and Australia battle for the World Test Championship at The Oval starting on June 7.

As the challenge progresses, there will be more and more conversations about the possible playing XI as well as the crew.

The result is slowly becoming apparent, with Australia’s Ricky Ponting initiating the procedures.

Suryakumar Yadav was surprised to learn that he would not be part of the Indian Test team on Friday. He made a shocking choice of “X-factor”, for the summit game.

Suryakumar’s Test cap was given earlier this year during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series because India wanted him to use his T20 performance and ShreyasIyer’s injury allowed the management the chance.

He was then dropped from the team that competed in the WTC Final, after he failed to impress.

Mukesh Gaikwad and Ruturaj Gaidah were later added as reserve players to the team.

Ponting replied “OK” when asked if Suryakumar should have been part of the core crew. He admitted that he was shocked by the exclusion.

The previous Australia commander praised an Indian player who was similar to Rishabh Gasp as the “X-factor” in the WTC final.

Ishan has recently developed a new X factor. He has the potential to bat and keep in the middle of the order. In terms of playing style, he is most similar to Rishabh Pan.

He continued: “If they play these guys, then they should be allowed to use an aggressive style of playing cricket.”

Ishan has been added as a replacement for KL Rahul. As a second choice for wicketkeeping in the IPL 2023, who had recently injured himself as KS Bharat’s replacement? Ishan is yet to make his Test debut with India.

India still has some options, even with their injuries. “Rahul was in my eleven before he got injured, but now that he’s not there. “They need to choose Ishan or K S Bharat,” Ponting added.
