Britney Spears has made headlines once again due to an incident which took place in Las Vegas. Reports claim she was hit in the face with a security officer when trying to introduce herself to NBA player Victor Wembanyama.
Incident Details
On Wednesday evening at Catch Restaurant within Aria Hotel where Spears was dining with her husband and friends, an incident took place that has since come under scrutiny by authorities. Allegedly Spears approached NBA star Wembanyama for a photo-op before touching him lightly to spark interest; Damian Smith (director of security for San Antonio Spurs) responded by backhanding Spears causing her to stumble and drop her glasses resulting in further injuries sustained from falling onto hard pavement surface.
After the incident occurred, Wembanyama addressed it. He reported he was walking with his security team when someone suddenly grabbed his attention behind them; without witnessing what had occurred themselves he said that their security team removed this individual quickly enough – eventually realizing she was Britney himself later that evening.
Legal Proceedings According to The Los Angeles Times, Spears lodged a police complaint regarding her encounter; however, details remain undisclosed. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have acknowledged the incident and are conducting their own investigation of it; no arrests or citations have yet been issued as they review surveillance video from the restaurant and determine that Wembanyama accidentally hit Spears by pushing his hand away while forcing it across her face.
Spears’ Statement
Britney Spears took to Twitter to voice her displeasure with Wembanyama and San Antonio Spurs for what transpired, demanding they issue an official public apology for what occurred. Unfortunately, neither organization have responded publicly.
